The Business of Being Born
This is an excellent though often frightening look at where US childbirth has gone vs other western countries. Being on the 'receiving' end of hospital-delivered babies, I have also had a sense that we have entered a spiral of medicalization and created complications... very scary! But the litigious nature of this country makes it nearly impossible for the OB world to do anything "less" than maximal intervention.
